Choose to take science out of the classroom and into the outdoor to see experiments truly come to life. The Dr Lynne B Harrison Science Center offers physics, biology, chemistry, robotics and astronomy in partnership with the Ben Gurion University of the Negev and physiology & kinesiology in collaboration with The Wingate Institute in Israel.
Campers can learn from expert teachers using high level specialized equipment, perform a variety of experiments using the daily activities and environment of camp. At night, we offer a unique program to allow our campers to view the sky through specialized telescopes when our astronomy program continues for small group viewings.
Round Lake campers are welcome to participate in the mainstream science programs. If a camper prefers to participate in a science program geared to RLC campers, we offer science with a RLC science specialist. The RLC Science program is a dynamic, hands-on elective. We bring STEM to camp by using familiar ingredients (such as glues, baking soda, coffee filters, Popsicle sticks) to engineer slimes, eruptions, chromatography, density bottles, and exploding cobra weaves. All experiments take place in a calm, safe, and very friendly environment.
