A Day at Round Lake Camp

Daily Schedule – Sunday through Friday

 

7:30 am – Rise and Shine

Good morning! Time to get dressed and ready for the day ahead.

8:00 am – Morning Line Up

Gather for the day and hear important daily announcements.

8:15am – Breakfast

Enjoy a cold and/or hot breakfast to start your day from our great variety served cafeteria style.

 

9:00am – Clean Up

Learn important life skills  and hygiene while working as a team to take care of our common living area. Lead staff inspect all bunks on a daily basis. Reward system are put in place to encourage campers to keep their bunks clean and organized. Counselors help our kids learn these skills.

9:45am – Rec Time

Enjoy the pool and cool down with friends and staff. American Red Cross WSI and lifeguards keep our campers safe.  Campers may also opt to participate in sports during this time.

 

10:45am – Athletics

Participate in athletics at your comfort level, by integrating or taking advantage of modified athletics offered by RLC staff.

 

 

11:45am – Elective 1

 

Choose from a wide array of activities which include sciences, sports, arts, adventure training and swimming.

 

 

12:45pm – Lunch

Enjoy a full salad bar with 10-12 items, plain pasta (whole wheat & white), bread, peanut-butter & jelly and fresh fruit. These items complement our hot entrees.

Meals are a great time to show CAMP SPIRIT. Campers sing and dance to the music of our song leader or music of their choice.

1:35pm – Rest Period/ Instructional Swim

Take your time to write a letter, play with your electronics, connect with your bunk mates or even take a snooze.

Campers who test level 3 and below as per the American Red Cross qualify for swim instruction.

2:30pm – Line Up

Get ready for the afternoon as a community.

2:45pm & 3:45pm – Elective 2 and Elective 3/ Internship for Campers 15 and up

Choose from a wide array of activities which include sciences, sports, arts, adventure training and swimming.

Round Lake campers in Teen Village, ages 15 and up, participate in an internship 5 to 6 days a week. Campers are placed, based on their request, at one of many locations on camp.

4:45pm- Elective 4

Choose from a wide array of activities which include sciences, sports, arts, adventure training and swimming.

5:50pm – Line up

Reconnect and review the evening program.

6:00pm – Dinner

At dinner we offer a full salad bar with 10-12 items, plain pasta (whole wheat & white), bread, peanut-butter & jelly and fresh fruit. These items complement our hot entrees.

7:15pm – Evening Program

Enjoy activities like camp fires, talent shows, scavenger hunts, square dances and pool nights.

8:15pm – Shower Time

Shower, jump into pj’s and get ready for bed.

9:00pm – Snack and Bunk Closures

Counselors and/or lead staff facilitate activities to promote bunk cohesiveness. Campers have a chance to decompress from the day.

Lights Out

After flashlight time when campers can read or play electronics our day comes to an end and we get rest so we are ready for another awesome day at camp!
